The GN 9120 utilises GN Netcom's unique Smart Power Management. This technology enables the headset to continually assess how far the unit is from the base station and to adjust the power output accordingly. Laboratory testing has confirmed that, through Smart Power Management, the GN 9120 delivers an unprecedented up to 12 hours of talk time and a range of up to an astonishing 150 metres. While range is impacted by office environments, the real-world range of the GN 9120 is consistently 50 percent greater than other wireless office products.

Additionally, the DECT version of the GN 9120 has added the ability to answer and terminate calls remotely without the need for additional accessories on newer phones by manufacturers whose products feature an electronic hookswitch.
